What is Barkada now?

One vision, grown into a cultural campus.

Barkada began as a house — four rooms running on a weekly cadence. Coffee in the morning, sound in the afternoon, the table at night, a screening in between.

With CAPA, Barkada now operates the whole of Idea Foundry: a 66,000-square-foot home for hospitality, sound, film, production, and the city's music and film organizations. The makerspace stays with Idea Foundry. Every other floor — the studios, the rooftop, the basement — Barkada runs.

Not a takeover. A campus for culture, built with the people who already shape it.

Reference-grade monitoring, a performance floor, tiered seating, and a wall of sound — built for live sessions, broadcast, and the listening events Barkada has run for years.

On 10-year anchor leases — the Lighthouse model — the city's leading music and film organizations make Idea Foundry their long-term home. They share the studios, the commons, and the campus.

Music Columbus and Atelier 411 Studios anchor the building. Every other arts organization is welcome at an affordable membership.
